I just designed a new Facebook Author’s page for my Facebook followers. It will be similar to this page. Posts will be about sci-fi reviews, books, writing and promotional tips, and more. Head on over and let me know what you think.

Colorful Word to Write Instead of Said
As we are writing our stories we often find ourselves typing “he said, she said, they said this or they said that.” Too many saids on a page will sound unprofessional. Also, you need to add some color, emotions, to what the character is saying.
In a lot of cases you can describe what the person is doing as they are talking without using he said. For instance…
Jack reached for the rifle. “You’re not going to make me use this, are you?”
But, if you prefer to use the colorful alternatives, here’s a list for you to look over.
Enjoy.
Tips for Authors-Use Instead of Very
My wife got me to sign up with Pinterest after seeing the image below. I know in the past I just couldn’t come up with an alternative to very (something) but this will help a lot. I’ve printed it out and posted it on my desk shelf to check when I get hung up again. Thought you might be interested.

Well, I was set up and ready for the first day at ALL-CON Thursday. I was looking forward to meeting with other sci-fi fans. Then Friday morning I found a note on my table stating by order of the City of Dallas all events with over 500 attendees will close by 11 a.m. March 13, 2020. Oh well, there’s next year.

A Fact About Facebook
A little something for my fellow authors (and other small businesses). I was just reading “The 10 Commandments of Author Branding” by Shayla Raquel about using social media. It has a good section on Facebook and she mentioned something I wanted to share. On page 50 she says… “Fact: according to Facebook’s policies, you’re not supposed to use your profile as a business.” If you do, Facebook can suspend your profile or shut it down. For authors, it’s best to create an author page on Facebook for your business (it’s still free).
Bookmarks for The Jupiter Factor Series
I’ve had some people ask about my bookmarks so I decide to share them and give a little background on the races. They are all introduced in someway in my second book, Conflict: Earth!, available on Amazon at www.amazon.com/gp/bookseries/B081K8M5TB# , B&N, and other fine bookstores.
